With over 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience, Alissa is an adaptive and heart-
connected strategist partnering with change agents in the nonprofit sector.
From 2010-2022 Alissa served as the Executive Director of Family Tree Clinic, a nationally
recognized sexual health center in the Twin Cities and from 2022-2024, as President & CEO of The Bakken Museum.
In 2024 Alissa was tapped to serve as a Senior Advisor for Gender Justice, an impact litigation and policy advocacy organization advancing gender equity. Alissa also provides independent consulting services via her firm, Four Stones Consulting, focused in the areas of board governance, executive coaching, fundraising initiatives, and organizational development. Clients have included QUEERSPACE collective, 360 Communities, zAmya theatre, Gender Justice, Camp Fire Minnesota, Craigardan, Minnesota Association of Community Health Centers, and Our Space MN. Alissa also serves as a fundraising consultant with that national firm Innovative Fundraising, as a strategy & governance subcontractor with Tangelo Tree Consulting, and as a subcontractor for interim executive director services with Mighty Consulting.
Alissa received the Distinguished Citizen Award from Macalester College in 2023, was named TCB top 100 Minnesotans to Know in 2021 and received the Business of Pride award from Mpls/St. Paul Magazine in 2019. Alissa serves on the board of The PFund Foundation.
Alissa lives in Minneapolis with her partner Crystal, kids Ada & Perrin, and dogs Cookie & Ru.
